Flare privacy policy

Voice and notes
Flare uses your microphone, with your permission, to transcribe speech on your device. The bundled Moonshine Small Streaming model works offline. Audio is processed in memory; Flare does not save audio recordings or upload audio or transcripts to Flowforest. Flare has no account, advertising, analytics or crash-reporting service, and no internet permission.
Storage and your choices
Saved transcripts and their tags and metadata are kept in app storage. If you choose a folder using Android’s folder picker, Flare also writes new Markdown notes there. A folder provider or sync service you choose may transfer those files under its own privacy policy. Sharing a note opens another app you choose.
You can delete notes within Flare. Exported or shared copies are independent and must be deleted separately. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes app-held notes and settings; exported copies remain. Flare disables Android app backup, although device manufacturers may handle device transfers differently. Microphone access can be revoked in Android Settings.
Feedback
Send feedback opens your email app. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it, and Flare does not automatically attach notes, recordings or diagnostic logs. If you email Flowforest, we receive your email address and the content you send through our email provider. We use this information to respond to feedback and support requests. Please avoid including sensitive note content. Contact us to request deletion of feedback correspondence, subject to any legal retention obligations.
Contact and changes
For privacy questions or feedback, email flare-feedback@flowforest.com. Changes to this policy will be reflected in the updated date and published with the app.
